A “HOT, HOT” MESS……..

hot.jpg

Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checkin in after a very dissapointing series against the really bad Cleveland Indians. Coming into this series the Sox were looking real good taking 3 outta 4 from the AL’s two best teams the Yankees & Angels and on paper looked like they could sweep the Cleveland Indians. Well let’s just say the Tribe had other ideas who came in trying to win their 3rd straight series against the AL Central’s top dogs. This past week the Indians took 2 outta 3 from not only us but the Tigers & Twins. The game started off with extremely hot temperatures at 91 degrrees & 55% humidity as you can see.
humid.jpg
The White Sox started off on the right foot when A.J. hit his 12th homer of the season to start a 3 run inning in the 2nd to give the Sox an early 3-0 lead. Jose Contreras was on the mound looking to get back on the right track after his last 2 inning disappointing start last tuesday against LA. He was doing good cruising right along until the 5th inning came around,
josec.jpg
That’s when trouble hit as he allowed 2 hits then walked a third & loaded the bases with no outs. The Indians put up a 4 spot in that inning highlighted by a 2 RBI single by Jamie Carroll which gave them the lead and they would not look back. Tony Pena then came in looking to keep it a 1 run lead but unlike his previous outings this week things didn’t go so well. He gave up another one then in the 7th struggling Scott Linebrink gave up a homer to Jamie Carroll to make it a 6-3 Tribe lead.
jamie.jpg
Sox tried to make a comeback in the bottom of the 7th when Alexei lead off with his 12 homer of the year but it was 1,2,3 after that and Kerry Wood eventually closed it out in the 9th to give the Indians a series win. To top it all off Detroit won 8-7 against Minnesota to extend their division lead to 3 games as they will get ready to head to Fenway for 4 games against the reeling Boston Red Sox(hopefully our eastside brethren can bail us out).
WEST COAST RIDING:
westcoast.jpg
Now the reason I have this pic up is because everytime I think of the West Coast I always think of two of my favorite artists Tupac & Snoop lol but anyway the Sox get ready to head back on the road & try to right the ship with 3 games against a Mariners team who is fighting for a wild card spot(they are 5.5 games out)  & also to Oakland(another place where we traditionally never played well) to play the Pathetics lol. Here is the pitching preview for the Mariners series.
MATCHUPS:
MONDAY
Gavin Floyd(9-6 3.91 ERA)
VS.
Lucas French(2-2 3.93 ERA)
Sidenotes:Gavin will look to win his 10th game of the season and continue his 8 game streak of quality starts but he is 1-2 with a 7.15 ERA(4 total starts) lifetime against the Seattle Mariners. On the other side Lucas French will make his Mariner debut after getting traded by the Tigers.
TUESDAY
John Danks(9-8 4.23 ERA)
VS.
Doug Fishter(0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Sidenotes: Johnny Danks will look to bounce back from his effort on Thursday where he gave up 6 runs in 7 innings.
WEDNESDAY
Mark Buerhle(11-6 3.89 ERA)
VS.
Felix Hernandez(12-4 2.84 ERA)
Sidenotes: Buerhls will look to FINALLY get back on the winning side of things as he hasn’t looked the same since the 5th inning in Minnesota two weeks ago, while on the other side Seattle’s King Felix will continue his great season and try to get his 13th win of the season.
OTHER NOTES:
-With Jose Contreras struggling again & fat boy Colon missing again former WS hero Freddy Garcia might be coming to the rescue. While Ozzie said that he doubt’s that he will but that Freddy has been pitching great. The Sox won’t need the a 5th starter until the 18th at home against the Royals so we have some time before we find out.
-Still no news on the Alex Rios rumor but we will know for a fact on Tuesday whether on not the Sox claimed him.
-And last but certainly not least Jake Peavy had another successful bullpen session yesterday & will make his 1st minor league rehab start on Thursday and some people are saying that he could be starting as early as Aug.23rd, I hope so Hurry up Jake we REALLY need you buddy!! Until next time yall this White Sox Real Talk signing off PEACE!!!!!!!!!!

A DAMN SHAME!

shame.jpg

Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox real talk checkin back in, and I am sitting here at the good ‘ol laptop wondering what word to use that would describe what went down at Da Cell tonight ummm……..PATHETIC!!! After taking a combined 5 outta 7 from the Yankees & Angels then just look sorry against the bottom feeders of the AL Central the Cleveland Indians. There are a lot of reasons why the White Sox lost tonight, like bad pitching by Mark Buerhle(I will get to that young man later lol), Errors(3 of em tonight) & bad offense. I’m gonna fast foward to the most crucial part of the game which was in the 8th inning when we had the bases juiced with NO OUTS! and the turning point in this sequence to me was when the umpire made HORRIBLE call that he thought was strike 2 but was really ball 3 after that it was strikeout, popup, groundout, game.
MR.UNPERFECT
unperfect.jpg
Ok i wanna know where who the hell is this & what did they do to Mark Buerhle????? Buerhls hasn’t been the same since that 5th inning that damn dome in Minnesota. He looked shaky again tonight giving up 5 runs in 7 innings. Because of this bad outing & other factors the Sox are now looking at a 3 game hole behind the Detroit Tigers who beat the Minnesota Twins tonight(who are slowly sinking. This years White Sox team reminds me of this guy:
rex.jpg
Now just throwing a disclaimer out before I move on, I hate this piece of crap & will hate him until my Bears win the Super Bowl, he is the reason my Bears didn’t win the title 3 years ago!!! ok now that I’m done with my venting  lol the Sox reminds me of him because of the “Good Rex, Bad Rex” thing , one day they take out the best the AL has to offer than lose to the piece of crap Indians. This needs to change FAST.
OTHER NOTES:
-Allegedly the White Sox have claimed Alex Rios off waivers from Toronto, I hope this rumor is true.
-Jake Peavy threw 50 pitches on his 2nd successful bullpen session.
Until next time yall PEACE!!!

CAREER NIGHT FOR PAULIE, TRADE RUMORS BREWING???

paulie3.jpg

Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checking in after a pretty entertaining HR derby at Da Cell last night. The game started off with Mark Buerhle on the mound trying to win his 9th game of the season. Grady Sizemore kicked it off early with his 1st of 2 homers of the night for a 1-0 Indians lead. In the 2nd Paulie hit his 1st HR of 3 to tie it at 1. Buerhle struggled a lil bit to give up 2 more runs and a 3-1 lead. Then the Sox offense woke up after 2 singles by Alexei & JD then a walk sent Jim Thome to 1st to load the bases for Paulie.
grandsalami.jpg
Thats when Paulie struck…AGAIN to hit a grand slam to left field to give the White Sox a 5-3 lead and his 2nd homer of the evening. Then the aerial show continued in the 7th inning when Alexei Ramirez continued his hot streak by hitting a 2-run homer his 11th of the season to make it a 7-3 lead.
alexeiss.jpg
Then Paulie struck….AGAIN in the seventh as he hit home run number 3 of the night!!! to make it a 10-3 lead and basically sealed the game for the Southsiders.
paulie2.jpg
So the Sox went on to win 10-6 and start off this quick homestand on the right foot.
TRADE RUMORS:
halladay.jpg
Now once again there is another rumor about an Ace joining the Sox pitching rotation. Now some reports are saying that Kenny is trying to bring Roy Halladay to the Southside. Now with all that being said I don’t believe it, first off Halladay has a no-trade clause & you know that Toronto is goin to want alot including this man:
becks1.jpg
Now I really like Halladay and all that good stuff but I’m not trading Bacon for a 32 year old pitcher…just aint happening. Especially the way he has been swinging the bat he is gonna be a stud real soon. Now there are also reports that their will NOT be any big name trades for the Sox due to the economy & the slumping attendance at Sox games. According to Kenny Williams that would be the reason why no deals get made, but we will see. Until next time yall…PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOX BEGIN FINAL 6 GAMES BEFORE BREAK, INDIANS AT CELL

soxcleveland.jpg

Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checking in to preview the Sox’s last 2 series before the all-star break & I will also rant on the All-Star selections so LET’S GET STARTED PEOPLE!! LOL
buerhls.jpg
First off let me start by saying Mark Buerhle is defintley deserving of being an all-star for the 4th time in his career. The man is 8-2 with a 3.04 ERA and could be 10-2 by the time he takes the mound on Tuesday at Busch Stadium. Tommorow the Sox will welcome a Mark DeRosa-less Cleveland Indians to the Cell for a 3 game set where we will send out Buerhls in game 1, Jose in Gm 2 & Clayton Richard in Gm 3. They will send out Jeremey Sowers, Aaron Laffey & David Huff respectively.
USCellular2.jpg
Now the Sox have been nothing short of average at home this year with a 20-20 record but would be nice to get that up to 23-20 with a clean sweep of the Indians. Then after this series the Sox will take their first trip to the Dreaded Metrodome in Minnesota to face The M&M boys & Joe Crede.
twinkies.jpg
We play so horrible here that if we win 1 game I will consider that a successful series lol. But good news is that we will have the cream of the crop in our pitching staff on the mound in this series. Danks, Gavin & Buerhls will hopefully get the job done and end the 1st half of the season on the right foot.
ALL-STAR SNUBS!!!!
bobbyaj.jpg
snub.jpg
Alright here’s the part of the show where I get to ranting LOL drumroll please……………..WHY THE HELL ARE JD & BOBBY JENKS NOT GOING TO ST.LOUIS??? LETS BE REAL PEOPLE ANDREW BAILEY FROM OAKLAND SHOULD NOT BE AN ALL-STAR SURE THE 2.03 ERA IS NICE BUT ONLY 9 SAVES???? STOP IT! BOBBY JENKS HAS 19 SAVES, SURE HIS ERA IS ABOUT A RUN HIGHER BUT HE HAS ONLY 2 BLOWN SAVES COMPARED TO BAILEY’S 4 BLOWN SAVES…THE ONLY REASON HE IS ON THE ROSTER IS BECAUSE OF THAT B.S. ONE ALL-STAR PER TEAM RULE. IT SHOULD BE STRICTLY ABOUT STATS MAN! NOW ON TO JD, THE MAN IS DOIN IT PEOPLE YOU’VE GOT ICHIRO ON THERE JUST BECAUSE HIS WHOLE DAMN COUNTRY VOTED HIM IN, BESIDES BATTING AVERAGE HE IS NOT BEATING JD IN ANY MAJOR CATEGORY!!! JD IS BATTING .291, 20 HRS, 53 RBI’S A SLUG % OF .571 & A .364 OBS COMPARED TO ICHIRO’S  3 HRS, 20 RBI’S, STOP THE MADNESS NOW!!! FANS SHOULDN’T EVEN BE ABLE TO VOTE MAN ITS JUST A DAMN POPULARITY CONTEST, SHOULD BE BOUT STATS!!!! ok im done lol until next time I’m White Sox Real Talk PEACE!! Aw yea Detroit loses to KC tonight so we gain some ground only 2 games outta 1st!!

SOX STREAKING????

streaking sox.jpg
Great pitching, Timely hitting…thats how you win. Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checkin back in during a very shocking but enjoyable 5-game win streak for the Sox. The Sox came  into this game  knowing that the Detroit Tigers had already lost to Oakland earlier in the day and could gain some ground on the division leaders. Action picked up in the 6th for the Sox as Ramon Castro hit his 2nd HR of the season right to right field and giving the Sox a 4-1 lead. The Indians offense never did get on track as Jose Contreras pitched another great outing throwing 8 innings only giving up 2 runs with 6 strikeouts and is quickly looking like the Jose of old.
josec.jpg

If Jose continues to pitch like this…boy we are going to be a force to reckon with in the 2nd half of the season. Paulie continued his comeback season going 2-3 and my preseason x-factor pick Gordon Beckham had another great game going 2-4 with an RBI. Only bad news coming is that Alexei injured his hand but should only miss tonights game against the Royals.
ROAD AHEAD:
The Sox will try to extend their streak right into KC as we will open up a 4 game set against the Royals tonight with Mark Buerhle on the bump, with Detroit goin to the Dome to play the Twinkies if the Sox can take 3 outta 4 or take a split they can potentially cut the lead to 1 game or even tie for first. So before All-Star break the Sox will play the Royals the next 4 days then head home to play Cleveland again then finish up the first half on the season with our 1st 3 game set in the dreaded Metrodome against the Twins.
ALL-STAR BOUND???
allstar.jpg
I’m hoping that JD & Paulie wont get robbed & take there rightful place as AL All-Stars  and I also think that Buerhle deserves a trip too but i have voted and so should you todays the last day but until next time….PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BACK ON THEE ROAD AGAIN!!!

getz.jpg

Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checkin back in as the White Sox began a 7 game roadie in Cleveland. Coming into this game the Sox have won 2 straight games and 6 of their last 8 games and also evening their home record to .500 at 20-20, they also had a chance to get their overall record to .500 too with a W against the Indians. The White Sox went up early 2-0 in this game when  Gordon Beckham hit a RBI single in the 2nd to score Chris Getz. This was the start of a great game for “Bacon” as he went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.
becks.jpg
The Indians didnt’t get any offense rolling until the 9th inning where they got 3 runs off Matt Thornton but Gavin Floyd continued his hot streak as he was untouchable again pitching 8.5 innings and giving up 0 runs.
flyod.jpg
Things got quite funny in the 7th inning as Indians manager Eric Wedge got ejected after arguing a call with the bases loaded when one of the Indians were called out on what he thought was a foul ball.
wedge.jpg
Things got a lil chippy as new Indians pitcher Chris Perez started throwing some wild pitches that hit Alexei & JD pretty good but fortunately wasn’t that bad.
man down lol.jpg
The Sox then went on to win 6-3 winning their third straight and are on their way to cutting the Tigers division lead to 4 games as they are getting routed 7-1 in the 8th inning to Oakland, now barring a miraclous comeback the sky is starting to get brighter for my Sox.
OTHER NOTES:
i’m super excited that my Sox complete history will be here tommorow i can’t wait to check it out look out for a blog on the DVD tommorow evening before the game.
soxmemories.jpg
UNITL NEXT TIME YALL….PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
