THE BITE OF THE TIGER!!!

bitetiger.jpg

WOW what a difference 48 hours makes…..Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checkin back in with a blog after a VERY VERY VERY disappointing 3 games against the Detroit Tigers. Yesterday after a perfect game from Mark Buerhle the White Sox got swept in the doubleheader to kick off the series. Today was definitely a must win, Gavin Floyd started today & gave up 2 runs early but was LIGHTS OUT after that going 6 more innings & giving up NO RUNS & looking fantastic.
gavingreat.jpg
Then A.J. started his very hot night (where he went 4 for 4) in the 2nd he got the White Sox 1st run with his 12 homer of the season.
ajhr.jpg
Then in the 5th the Sox’s youngest guns Chris Getz & Gordon Beckham struck as Beckham scored Getz to tie the game at 2. Then our MVP of the season so far Scotty Pods gave us the lead with an RBI single. So fast foward to the 8th Bobby Jenks after blowing his last save comes in to get a 4 out save and cut the division lead back to 1 game. It started off well as he got Jose Guillen out with runners on the corners, then he gets the 1st out in the 9th but thats when it went all downhill as he gave up back to back hits and had runners on the corners with 1 out, so he then got Miguel Cabera to pop out then Bad Bobby showed up again……….
curtis.jpg
on a 2-2 count Curtis Granderson score the tying run on a JUST FAIR line drive to right field. Bobby then got the last out but the questions surrounding him will be even louder now as he blows his 4th save of the season, his 2nd in the last week.
bobbyblown.jpg
Now after this happened I knew we were destined to lose this game and boy was I right. After Fernando Rodney shut us down in top of the 10th, D.J. Carrasco came out the pen & gave up the winning run on a bloop RBI single by Carlos Guillen.
tigerswin.jpg
Now we have dropped 3 in a row and are back to 3 games behind in the AL Central. That leads us to tommorow under the bright lights on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball where we will have to have another great outing from Clayton Richard(don’t know how realstic that is tho) and at least get one win before heading to hell on monday AKA The Metrodome. Now with the trading deadline approaching will Bobby Jenks be on the trading block???? will Halliday save the day if he comes in a trade???? will the back end of the bullpen get better??? will the White Sox offense wake up???? there are a lot more questions than answers on the Southside…..things are looking pretty bleak, But until next time I’m White Sox Real Talk….PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

DEAR BOBBY………..

dearbobby.jpg

Dear Bobby…How can I say this…….you’r messing up buddy. We had a perfectly winnable game last night & you blew it. Since the beginning of the season there have been rumors that the Sox should trade you because you were losing some of your stuff, I didnt wanna believe it then & I still don’t wanna believe it now. But you may be proving your doubters right as of now, out of your 22 saves only 10 have been 1,2,3. In the month of July you have a ERA of 9.00,  and have given up 10 hits, 7 runs & 5 walks also 6 of those runs were earned. Now I’m not gon put the whole blame on you because we also blew a bases loaded oppurtunity in the 7th with only 1 out & got no runs BUT you’ve gotta fix this man, because we can’t win this division without you, I am writing this letter to encourage you to get back in it, I still have faith in you my dude & I still have memories of when you burst into the scene with your amazing performance in the 2005 world series. Maybe this video will inspire you to get back to your winning ways

SOX DRAW 1ST BLOOD IN ALDS REMATCH, TOUGH ROAD AHEAD!

bobbyclose.jpg

Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checking in after a THRILLER at da Cell between the Rays & my beloved White Sox. Action picked up in the 3rd inning when the game was tied at 1. That’s when Paulie Konerko struck again &  hit his 18th homer of the season to give the Sox a 4-1 lead.
paulie18.jpg
In the very next inning All-Star game MVP Carl Crawford hit a in-the-park home run when he hit a ball deep into center field & Scotty Pods thought the ball was out the park but it really was in & rolled off his foot into right field as Crawford just flew to home plate to cut into the lead 4-2.
carlinthepark.jpg
In the 6th the Rays made things even more interesting as Evan Longoria blasted his 19th long ball of the year to cut into the Sox’s lead a lil more 4-3. Gavin Floyd pitched 7 innings of 3 hit baseball(all of which were homers) and look pretty decent depending on 9 days without throwing  a pitch. Now after the Longoria homer the Sox played some good D that lead to the W.
KEY PLAYS:
ajthrowshimout.jpg
The biggest play of the game happened in the 8th when Matt Thornton came in with runners on 1st & 2nd with 1out. That’s when Jason Bartlett tried to steal third & A.J. threw him out & got his 2nd runner of the game(he threw out Crawford earlier) that was important because on the very next pitch Thornton gave up a base hit that would’ve scored the tying run if A.J. hadn’t had made that play. Thronton then got the 3rd & final out of the inning, so Bobby Jenks came in the 9th to try to get the save, he looked unhittable the first two batters striking out Carlos Pena &  Ben Zobrist BUT then things got risky as Jenks walked Pat Burrell, Willy Aybar singled then Gabe Gross was walked. So the bases were loaded for Bobby with 2 outs & the tying run 90 feet away but Mr.Jenks did not fold as he struck out Jason Bartlett to get his 22nd save of the season & a White Sox winner. There was even more good news as the Tigers were idle tonight & we closed the divison gap to just one game
WELCOME BACK CQ!!
carlos-quentin-ozzie-guillen.jpg
Sox fans got the news they have been waiting to hear for the last two months…CARLOS QUENTIN IS BACK! he was called up today & Brian Anderson was sent down to make roster space for him. I personally was shocked because I was sure DWise was gonna be the odd man out but i guess not. Carlos had a base hit & also ran the bases pretty good in his 1st game back. This is huge for us because even if he is only 75% thats still great because he still changes our whole lineup. Its like aquiring someone through a trade & defitnely the boost we needed for this 2nd half Pennant Push.
ROUGH ROAD AHEAD!
Now the Sox got this tough stretch of 5 series on the right foot tongiht but we weill defintley know real soon how good we really are & how good are chances are of winning not just the division but possibly the AL Pennant. The schedule makers obviously aren’t Sox fans cuz the next 5 series(including the one we are in now) are BRUTAL. Not only do we have 3 more games against the Rays this week but after that we will be heading to Detroit for 4 & Minnesota for 3 in a VERY VERY important road trip, then we come home & things don’t get any easier as we will be welcoming in the Bronx Bombers & the Angels. So with all this being said by the end of the month we will be either in the race still or very damaged heading to August. That’s all for me tonight tho, tommorow all eyes will be on Clayton Richard to see if he will pitch well & preseve his place in the Sox starting rotation, until next time yall PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!

SOX BEGIN FINAL 6 GAMES BEFORE BREAK, INDIANS AT CELL

soxcleveland.jpg

Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checking in to preview the Sox’s last 2 series before the all-star break & I will also rant on the All-Star selections so LET’S GET STARTED PEOPLE!! LOL
buerhls.jpg
First off let me start by saying Mark Buerhle is defintley deserving of being an all-star for the 4th time in his career. The man is 8-2 with a 3.04 ERA and could be 10-2 by the time he takes the mound on Tuesday at Busch Stadium. Tommorow the Sox will welcome a Mark DeRosa-less Cleveland Indians to the Cell for a 3 game set where we will send out Buerhls in game 1, Jose in Gm 2 & Clayton Richard in Gm 3. They will send out Jeremey Sowers, Aaron Laffey & David Huff respectively.
USCellular2.jpg
Now the Sox have been nothing short of average at home this year with a 20-20 record but would be nice to get that up to 23-20 with a clean sweep of the Indians. Then after this series the Sox will take their first trip to the Dreaded Metrodome in Minnesota to face The M&M boys & Joe Crede.
twinkies.jpg
We play so horrible here that if we win 1 game I will consider that a successful series lol. But good news is that we will have the cream of the crop in our pitching staff on the mound in this series. Danks, Gavin & Buerhls will hopefully get the job done and end the 1st half of the season on the right foot.
ALL-STAR SNUBS!!!!
bobbyaj.jpg
snub.jpg
Alright here’s the part of the show where I get to ranting LOL drumroll please……………..WHY THE HELL ARE JD & BOBBY JENKS NOT GOING TO ST.LOUIS??? LETS BE REAL PEOPLE ANDREW BAILEY FROM OAKLAND SHOULD NOT BE AN ALL-STAR SURE THE 2.03 ERA IS NICE BUT ONLY 9 SAVES???? STOP IT! BOBBY JENKS HAS 19 SAVES, SURE HIS ERA IS ABOUT A RUN HIGHER BUT HE HAS ONLY 2 BLOWN SAVES COMPARED TO BAILEY’S 4 BLOWN SAVES…THE ONLY REASON HE IS ON THE ROSTER IS BECAUSE OF THAT B.S. ONE ALL-STAR PER TEAM RULE. IT SHOULD BE STRICTLY ABOUT STATS MAN! NOW ON TO JD, THE MAN IS DOIN IT PEOPLE YOU’VE GOT ICHIRO ON THERE JUST BECAUSE HIS WHOLE DAMN COUNTRY VOTED HIM IN, BESIDES BATTING AVERAGE HE IS NOT BEATING JD IN ANY MAJOR CATEGORY!!! JD IS BATTING .291, 20 HRS, 53 RBI’S A SLUG % OF .571 & A .364 OBS COMPARED TO ICHIRO’S  3 HRS, 20 RBI’S, STOP THE MADNESS NOW!!! FANS SHOULDN’T EVEN BE ABLE TO VOTE MAN ITS JUST A DAMN POPULARITY CONTEST, SHOULD BE BOUT STATS!!!! ok im done lol until next time I’m White Sox Real Talk PEACE!! Aw yea Detroit loses to KC tonight so we gain some ground only 2 games outta 1st!!

HOT STOVE REPORT:MOVES IN SOXVILLE;WINTER MEETINGS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER

Whats good world this is ya boy White Sox Real Talk checking back in wit ya, the sox season has only been over a couple months and boy has Mr.Kenny Williams already changed the look of the 2008 AL Central Divison Champs. In his attempt to bring more youth and speed to the southside, Mr.Williams’ first offseason move was of course not re-signing one Ken Griffey Jr.

This was a move that I saw coming from the begining of the offseason, I even said it was gon happen in my Season wrapup blog(If you haven’t already read it go check it out,It’s a great read LMAO) Mr.Williams(I CALL HIM THAT CUZ HE’S NICE LOL) then traded away a southside favorite Dirty 30 Nick Swisher to the Bronx

Even Though Nick batted a horrible .219 with 24 HRs and 69 RBI’s I was kinda dissapointed to see him go, because of his upbeat attitude and was always a site to see at sox home games. In return the Sox got back

Wilson Betemit(The Guy on top),Jeff Marquez and Jhonny Nunez from the Bombers. And If you thought Kenny was done trading for a lil bit….YOU’RE DEAD WRONG LOL as Kenny traded Javier Vasquez to ATL in a 6-player deal(I GUESS KENNY READ MY SEASON WRAP-UP BLOG CUZ HE’S DOIN EVERYTHING I SAID TO DO LOL)

We got back prospects Catcher Tyler Flowers, Infielder Brent Lillibridge, 3B John Gilmore and Left handed pitcher Santos Rodriguez, Kenny says that all of these players have great talent even went as far as to say that John Gilmore is “the next Joe Crede” and calling Tyler Flowers “the next great all-star in the american league” I’m not gonna question him cuz he has a great eye for talent(Carlos Quentin,Alexei Ramirez).

TRADE RUMORS:

Rumor has it that Kenny is also trying to shop former World Series MVP Jermaine Dye and our closer Bobby Jenks….

Now I hope these rumors are just rumors cuz i would HATE to see them go, now the Jermaine Dye trade would make more sense than trading Bobby Jenks because JD is 34 yrs. old and maybe on the downslide of his career real soon but trading Bobby Jenks MAKES ABSOULTELY NO SENSE PERIOD!!!! He has been nothing short of BRILLIANT sense making his Sox debut in ’05 he has had 3 straight seasons of at least 30 saves so that makes no sense. Kenny did say that he wouldn’t trade either player unless he could find equal value.

Rumor also has it that the Sox are interested in aquiring Marlins 3B Jorge Cantu who batted .277 with a career high 29 HRs and a team high 95 RBI’s last season

I HOPE THIS RUMOR IS TRUE….

Finally The Sox have filed Arbirarion for Orlando Cabrera and are waiting for a reply, well the winter meetings start next week and Kenny plans on going their listening instead of going their talking ****(like when he said the Tigers trade last year gave the Tigers a better chance to compete wit da Sox lol) I’ll be back wit new blogs if any big news comes out of the Winter Meetings so until next time I’m WHITE SOX REAL TALK…..PEACE!!!!
