ALL-STAR GAME RECAP & 2ND HALF PREVIEW!

chicago_u_obama01_576.jpg

Now I know why I voted for this man lol ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checkin back in after a GREAT all-star game & all-star events. Let’s start off with the first of the All-Star activites, the HR Derby. Now on paper it didn’t look that exciting and look like Albert Pujols was going to mop the floor with his opponents lol BUT thats why we play the game. We were treated to a great HR  flurry early between Prince Fielder & Nelson Cruz who both hit 11 homers in the 1st round, then The Machine Albert Pujols came out a little shaky but got the crowd into it when he hit 5 homers to get his self into a Swing Off with Carlos Pena & Joe Mauer and eventually won. He later got eliminated in the 2nd round by Ryan Howard but the final between Fielder & Cruz was just great as the Prince put on a show and won the derby. It was really good and showed people that you don’t need a lot of big names for a good derby to happen.

Then it was time for the main event that we all came to see, The Mid-Summer Classic. AL came into this game winning the last 12 games against the NL and looked to have Home-Field advantage in the World Series once again. The festivites started when President Obama showed off his loyalty by rocking the Sox jacket when he threw out the 1st pitch to Albert Pujols.

So after the pitch the game started when the AL went up early and scored 2 runs on the NL’s Tim Lincecum. Then the Sox All-Star Mark Buerhle came in a did a great job by pitching a 1,2,3 inning and even got rid of Albert Pujols.

The NL struck back when they took the 3-2 lead on a RBI double by Prince Fielder. The AL then tied the game off a Joe Mauer RBI double in the 5th at 3. It stayed that way all the way up until Curtis Granderson hit a triple and later scored off a Sac Fly by Baltimore Orioles CF Adam Jones to give the AL the 4-3 lead. It would stay that way as Mariano Rivera came in and got his 7th All-Star save for a AL win. But let me not forget to give the All-Star MVP Carl Crawford a big up on robbing the Rockies player(who i don’t know his name cuz i don’t watch Rockies Baseball lol) and basically saving the game for the good ‘ol American League.

So now the game is over & AL has Home-Field advantage in the Fall Classic AGAIN. Hopefully my Sox will be there to use it, which brings me to my next  topic.
2ND HALF PREDICTION & THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR:
So now that the All-Star festivities are over it’s time to focus on the stretch run, where divisions are won, where the October puzzle comes together. Now one of the main questions for the South Siders is will Kenny Williams make a huge trade for a impact pitcher?? that question needs to be answered because if that 5th starter problem aint solved then we are in some deep s***. Also will Paulie be able to produce the same in the 2nd half as he did in the 1st? because we all know he doesn’t really put together 2 halfs of great baseball. Now we start off the 2nd half with a 7 game homestand against the Baltimore Orioles(who we should sweep) and then a 4 game set with our playoff opponents from last year, The Tampa Bay Rays. Now time for my 2nd half MLB predictions drumroll please lol………….
