Whats good world this is ya boy White Sox Real Talk checking back in wit ya, the sox season has only been over a couple months and boy has Mr.Kenny Williams already changed the look of the 2008 AL Central Divison Champs. In his attempt to bring more youth and speed to the southside, Mr.Williams’ first offseason move was of course not re-signing one Ken Griffey Jr.
This was a move that I saw coming from the begining of the offseason, I even said it was gon happen in my Season wrapup blog(If you haven’t already read it go check it out,It’s a great read LMAO) Mr.Williams(I CALL HIM THAT CUZ HE’S NICE LOL) then traded away a southside favorite Dirty 30 Nick Swisher to the Bronx
Even Though Nick batted a horrible .219 with 24 HRs and 69 RBI’s I was kinda dissapointed to see him go, because of his upbeat attitude and was always a site to see at sox home games. In return the Sox got back
Wilson Betemit(The Guy on top),Jeff Marquez and Jhonny Nunez from the Bombers. And If you thought Kenny was done trading for a lil bit….YOU’RE DEAD WRONG LOL as Kenny traded Javier Vasquez to ATL in a 6-player deal(I GUESS KENNY READ MY SEASON WRAP-UP BLOG CUZ HE’S DOIN EVERYTHING I SAID TO DO LOL)
We got back prospects Catcher Tyler Flowers, Infielder Brent Lillibridge, 3B John Gilmore and Left handed pitcher Santos Rodriguez, Kenny says that all of these players have great talent even went as far as to say that John Gilmore is “the next Joe Crede” and calling Tyler Flowers “the next great all-star in the american league” I’m not gonna question him cuz he has a great eye for talent(Carlos Quentin,Alexei Ramirez).
Rumor has it that Kenny is also trying to shop former World Series MVP Jermaine Dye and our closer Bobby Jenks….
Now I hope these rumors are just rumors cuz i would HATE to see them go, now the Jermaine Dye trade would make more sense than trading Bobby Jenks because JD is 34 yrs. old and maybe on the downslide of his career real soon but trading Bobby Jenks MAKES ABSOULTELY NO SENSE PERIOD!!!! He has been nothing short of BRILLIANT sense making his Sox debut in ’05 he has had 3 straight seasons of at least 30 saves so that makes no sense. Kenny did say that he wouldn’t trade either player unless he could find equal value.
Rumor also has it that the Sox are interested in aquiring Marlins 3B Jorge Cantu who batted .277 with a career high 29 HRs and a team high 95 RBI’s last season
I HOPE THIS RUMOR IS TRUE….
Finally The Sox have filed Arbirarion for Orlando Cabrera and are waiting for a reply, well the winter meetings start next week and Kenny plans on going their listening instead of going their talking ****(like when he said the Tigers trade last year gave the Tigers a better chance to compete wit da Sox lol) I’ll be back wit new blogs if any big news comes out of the Winter Meetings so until next time I’m WHITE SOX REAL TALK…..PEACE!!!!
Wuz good world Im just sitting here at the ol’ computer wondering IS TONIGHT THE NIGHT THAT GAVIN FLOYD SAVES THE WHITE SOX SEASON?? I sure hope so, he is UNDEFEATED everytime he takes the mound after a Sox loss. But weirder things have happened at the the dreaded METRODOME FROM HELL, will this be the night where my Sox rip the hearts out of Twins fans across the state of Minnesota or will this be the night that Joe Mauer & Justin Morneau put their own champagne bottles in the cooler and get ready for a weekend celebration. I HOPE ITS THE 1ST OPTION, we just need to put the 2 losses behind us and win this 1 game. If we win this game tonight the last two losses are meaningless and the Twins will still be the Hunters instead of the Hunted. A win tonight and we can have a HUGE party on the Southside with all Sox fans and get ready to play the Rays in the ALDS. This is the turning point in the Sox ’08 season, even though the Twins are riding high we can still knock em down.
Of course I still have my worries like is this team really focused on the AL Central goal? I ask myself this question because this morining I was reading the Chicago Sun-Times and something that Ken Griffey Jr. told the press really erked me. A reporter after last night’s loss asked him as a fellow Centerfielder how did you feel about Carlos Gomez’s athletic catch that robbed A.J. of a double and Junior said:
“I wasn’t watching, I was looking at something else”……???????
JR. WHAT THE HELL WERE U WATCHING, THE HOUSE OF PAYNE???? THIS WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAY OF THE GAME AND YOU TALKING BOUT I WASN’T WATCHING IT. That kinda makes me scared that maybe this team is already defeated mentally, I mean with those comments and also Orlando Cabrera saying “These guys don’t want to win as bad as I do, We come to the ballpark HOPING to win not saying we’re GOING to win” if they’re going into tonights game with that mentality then please do the city of Chicago and all Sox fans across the nation a favor AND DON’T EVEN SHOW UP TO THE GAME AND EMBARASS YOURSELVES!!! This is honestly pitfull to see my Sox imploding right in my face at the end of the season. I feel like a Mets fan right now….
WHITE SOX REAL TALK, PEACE
HOLLA AFTER GAME
Yup you’re looking at it right, the Sox lead is now down to 0.5,let me explain how we got here:
TWINS 3, SOX 2
Wuz good world, I just hope all of yall are doing much better than i am right now. Im so upset right now its not even funny once again we get OUTPLAYED AND OUTHUSTLED by the Twins. I’m gon keep it plain and simple tonight, we had a good outing for out veteran pitcher Mark Buehrle
But once again our bats went on vacation. Besides his bad 2-run inning in the 2nd, Buehrle pitched a great game as he went on to pitch 5 scorless innings after that bad start, but the Sox offense didnt do anything to help him out as we only scored 2 runs and for the second night in a row all came off the bat of this man:
Now don’t get me wrong im glad that Jr. is FINALLY heating up but he’s getting NO HELP WHATSOVER from his teamates. Jim Thome is on a slump, Jermaine Dye hasn’t been seen since mid-August and everyone else on the team keeps grounding out. There’s a problem when the only 5 runs we scored this series have come off the bat of Jr. WE NEED TO STEP IT UP AND FAST. Plain and simple tommrow night is a MUST-WIN FOR THE SOX. If we lose we become 2nd in Central and we have to at least win 3 out of our next four or sweep and hope the Twins lose 1 game just to get to A TIEBREAKER GAME AT THE CELL. So i just hope Gavin is ready tommrow cuz we gon need him and also he’s gon need the offense to give him support or we gon be in for the same night we had tonight.
ALL YEA AND BY THE WAY THAT WAS A HORRIBLE CALL BY THE 2ND BASE UMPIRE WHEN HE CALLED CARLOS GOMEZ SAFE, OC HAD HIM TAGGED UP A MILE AWAY, GET YOUR HEAD OUT YOUR *** AND CALL THE GAME RIGHT, YOU CAN’T MAKE MISTAKES LIKE THAT IN A CRITCAL GAME…..STEP IT UP
UNTIL NEXT TIME,
WHITE SOX REAL TALK…PEACE!!!
TWINS 9, WHITE SOX 3
WELCOME TO HELL WHITE SOX:
“That wasn’t a loss that was a ****** *** whoopin” those were the words of White Sox Manger Ozzie Guillen after a very painful 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night. Let me explain why he is 100% right with those comments. The game started off pretty well for the White Sox as they scored first and took the early lead but too bad for us that it only lasted 1.5 OF AN INNING. As Javier Vasquez ONCE AGAIN proved his naysayers right by giving up 5 RUNS IN 4 INNINGS OF WORK. To make things worse he just got MURDERED BY THIS GUY:
Jason Kubel was like god to us last night he just beat our *** it all started when Javi punked out and walked Justin Morneau ON 4 STRAIGHT BALLS BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED!!!. So you have a man on first now with 0 Outs so what happens???? KUBEL STRIKES WITH A 2-RUN SHOT and the Twins never looked back as they went on to destroy us 9-3 the Sox pitching Staff gave up 9 RUNS, 3 OF THEM WERE LONG BALLS. 1 HR for Delmon Young and 2 HR FOR JASON KUBEL OF ALL PEOPLE. He always kills us EVERYTIME we play the Twins. The only Bright Spot for the Sox is when Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 610th HR, it was meaningless as far as the game went but he made history by passing up Sammy Sosa at #5 all-time HRs.
So after that loss the White Sox see their lead in the Division slip to 1.5 games now and their Magic Number stays at 5. I was truly DISGUSTED with the Sox efforts. They’re playing like they’re waiting to lose instead of playing to win and it made me think of if this team blows it and dosent make the playoffs IT WILL BE THE SICKEST FEELING I’VE FELT WATCHING SPORTS SINCE THE BEARS LOST THE ’06 SUPER BOWL. But we still have a chance to win tonight re-gain our 2.5 game lead in the Central and still return home with the lead but we are going to need a SOLID performance from Mark Buehrle
The game will be on Comcast Sporstnet at 7pm fortunatly for me I’ll be in class and will miss majority of the game so i wont have to see a collapse. I’ve found it generally when i dont see a game they win, So hopefully that happens tonight.
AW YEA IF ANYBODY SEE’S THIS GUY:
TELL HIM THERE’S A SERIES GOING ON IN MINNESOTA AND WE WOULD LIKE IT IF HE SHOWED UP TO THE GAME….THANKS
WHITE SOX REAL TALK SIGNING OFF…..
