GAME 4- RAYS 6, WHITE SOX 2
RAYS WIN SERIES 3-1;ADVANCE TO ALCS
Yea that was the look of the Sox after reluctanly waving the white flag to the Rays and ending their season. The Sox simply just ran out of gas, since they won the division in Game 163 they didn’t have time to appropriatley set the rotation for the playoffs and only had 1 day off. They had been pitching their starting pitchers on 3 days rest for 3 straight weeks so they just ran outta steam.
But the Sox have no reason to hang their heads, they defintley overachieved. Considering the fact that coming into the season NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE expected the Sox to even be in contention for the AL Central Title. Not only were they in contention,THEY WON IT and also considering we lost our MVP Carlos Quentin, and our best defender and Clutch Hitter Joe Crede we did pretty damn good.
Now with all that being said I still wanted my Sox to go all the way but considering the Cubs CHOKED….AGAIN it defitnely made the pill much easier to swallow. I was EXTREMELY proud of my White Sox this year and I will be at the Cell next year for even more games and we also have a VERY BRIGHT future.
Well Kenny Williams defintley has a mess to fix but its a fixable mess and i have all the confidence in the world that Kenny will bring us a very good team next year.BUT if i was Sox GM here’s what i would do….
WHITE SOX REAL TALK’S GM MOVES FOR 2008 OFFSEASON:
1. GO AFTER CC SABATHIA
My reasoning for this is because CC Sabathia would defitnley solve the Sox’s problem of not having a Ace. And could you imagine our starting pitching with CC Sabathia, Gavin Floyd, John Danks, and Mark Buerhle, that would be amazing.
2.TRADE OR RELEASE JAVY VASQUEZ
I’m not gon say a lot about this clown but I would get rid of him either way. I DON’T CARE IF WE TRADE HIM AND GET NOTHING, JUST SHOW HIM THE DOOR PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
3.DEVELOP CLAYTON RICHARD AS #5 STARTER
I really like what i saw from this youngster coming out of the bullpen, he was a little shaky in his starts but i think if you develop and prepare him to be a full-time starter I think he could have similar success of Gavin Floyd and John Danks. MY 2009 STARTING ROTATION:
2. GAVIN FLOYD
3. JOHN DANKS
4. MARK BUERHLE
5. CLAYTON RICHARD
4. CENTER FIELD SITUATION
Now as much as I like Ken Griffey Jr. but I think he has to go, he defitnley is not the slugger he used to be and he is very slow now, I think we let him go and let Dewayne Wise and Nick Swisher switch at Center.
5. RE-SIGN OC!!!!
Now I know a lot of people and especially the Media don’t like Orlando Cabrera cuz he talks a lot in the press BUT this guy is a GAMER you feel me GAMER… he is the best shortstop we have had on the Southside in a LONG, LONG time. So I would sign him to a 2-year contract and have Alexei stay at 2nd Base.
6. GET MORE SPEED!!!!
Just get some speed lol i don’t care who you get…but my prefrence would be players who can manufacture runs, bunt and steal bases maybe a guy like CHONE FIGGINS i don’t know but maybe him.
7. BACK TO THE CENTER FIELD SITUATION: MAYBE FREE AGENTS???
2. SIGN MANNY AND HAVE HIM PLAY CENTER:
8. WHAT TO DO WITH JOE CREDE???
Now as much as I love Joe Crede on the Sox, I just don’t know if I would re-sign him because of his back problems. He missed damn near all of last year and miss the whole 2nd half this year but I really don’t know what to do cuz i also don’t want Juan Uribe starting at 3rd all year.
NOW THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS AND WHAT I WOULD DO IF I WAS SOX GM. BUT I DOUBT MOST OF THIS HAPPENS.
WHITE SOX REAL TALK…PEACE
